Quick Catch-Up!

I've been MIA for the past week! Hubs and I were camping out in the beautiful back country of Wyoming and Nebraska visiting some historical sites. Amazing experience... and it's weird to be back to computers, electricity, showers, and a bed.

I'm excited to share pics and tell you about one writing-related event, but for now, I'll show you this gorgeous shot taken earlier today. And yes, I give you full liberty to mock my rainbow-colored hat!

Been camping this summer? Any fun trips planned?

Talk soon!

Red. Head. Out. :D

  2. Gorgeous. Hope your trip was fabulous.

We planned a camping trip in NC but changed it to hotels which were just easier since it was raining, wet, cold, and because of my son's allergies and my arthritis that was acting up because of said wet and cold. I felt like a wimp, but I really like walking so hotel it was.

we're going camping in Cape Cod, Ma. next week. So excited, it will be the kids' first time. My whole family is going (my parents, my brothers and their families, my cousin and her family) it'll be total mayhem and I can't wait!

  4. I won't mock your hat!
I'm not going camping though. I like AC, running water, and security.

  6. My idea of camping is a really cheap motel.
That being said I love nature and hiking and that shot looks gorgeous! Also I love the hat.

  7. I'm more of a fall/winter camper, so I won't hit the woods until October. :)

Welcome back. Glad you enjoyed yourself! :)

  8. I love camping, and am overdue to do it again. It's been too long. Since I'm a counselor for the nursery bunk instead of older kids this summer, our weekly day trips haven't been too exotic or far away, but we still have three weeks left of camp. I enjoyed our trip to a nearby hobby farm last week, with a little store on the property with antiques like old bicycles, bottles, sleds, and machinery hanging on the walls. After camp, maybe I'll take a real trip.

  10. I don't think I'll try camping until the little one is just a little bit older ... I don't know how I'd contain him if not for his crib!

  11. Haven't been camping. But we got back recently from a trip to SD's Black Hills. First time bringing kids to see Mt. Rushmore and all the other fun stuff out there.

  12. It's funny that so many people go to Wyoming. I lived in Idaho Falls and was in Wyoming so much that it lost it's flavor as anything special. I moved here and people take vacations to go to "Jackson Hole" of all places, and I'm like, "What's in Jackson except high priced food and city folk wearing cowboy boots?"

And it looks like a gorgeous place to be. Reminds me of a few places here in TN that I've camped at a couple times.

"Hey Morg, love the view, but you've got a multi-colored Bee's Nest on yer head... Run. Woman. Run."

(Ohhhh, nice touch, using the Special. Shamy. Signoff. :)

  21. How gorgeous! We camp a few times a year. At least we call it camping- we have a small camper with bathroom, microwave, TV/DVD for the the kids, but we've done the real thing too. It's our way of being able to travel and see places in an affordable way.
